Leather Care

Leather is a durable material. However, it is necessary to care for your leather as it can dry, crack, mold, or stain. Following certain guidelines and taking measures to prevent damage will help your leather maintain its integrity over time.

Keeping it Moisturized

Leather needs moisture to maintain its shine and look.

My recommendation is this: Every few months, or if it feels dry, apply a conditioner or balm to the grain side and allow it to soak in for a few minutes. I recommend using Smith's Leather Balm. Pay attention to any creases and seams as they take the most abuse. Buff out any excess conditioner with a cloth.

Preventing Water Damage

Veg-tanned leather is not as waterproof as other leather options. However, with proper care, you can avoid water damage and stains.

Preparation is vital. Your leather goods, bags especially, should be moisturized. This prevents water from soaking into them if the opportunity arises. If you do get caught in the rain or set your wallet on a wet table, give it a good wipe down to get excess water off. If the item gets completely water logged, dry is as soon as possible with towels or a hairdryer on low heat. If left untreated, your item can start to mold.

If you do get water spots on an item, moisturize them as previously suggested.

Damage Policy

Damages that would require repairs include, but are not limited to, thread breaks, leather tearing, or hardware malfunctions.

I have a lifetime warranty on thread breaks. If the thread breaks on any new item you bought from me, excluding sale items, I will repair it for free. Other damages are up to my discretion. If it is a fault of mine, I will repair it.

Accidents or other causes of damage I can likely repair, however, I will quote the cost.
